Ausgrid Beresfield Depot
A new depot to help cater for the future demand on the electricity network from population growth.

The new Ausgrid Depot project located in Beresfield, NSW consisted of concept design through to documentation and construction phase services. Working as lead design consultant under the Managing Contractor, Hansen Yuncken, SHAC produced a series of site layout options with a focus on achieving the most efficient and cost-effective outcome for Ausgrid. Rationalising heavy vehicle access and clear pedestrian circulation were key factors in the depot design.
The depot was completed in 2018 and now accommodates staff from three previous Ausgrid works depots.
Ausgrid CEO Richard Gross officially opened the Beresfield depot and stated “This purpose-built facility has been designed to bring our teams together so they can work more efficiently and for our customers that means we will be able to provide improved responses during emergencies. The depot will provide our employees with a new, modern and fit for purpose facility to better support our customers right across the Lower Hunter and Newcastle”.
