Complementing their existing coastal resorts, this initiative will feature tourism accommodation, a 100-place function centre, a welcome centre with a café and bar, day spa facilities, a dedicated children’s play zone, swimming pools, and walking trails, all designed to highlight the best of the Hunter Valley.

A key focus of the development is the respect for natural elements of the context including the Pokolbin Creek ecosystem, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of river gums, native meadows, and scenic hillside viewpoints with the Brokenback Range as a backdrop. The area also offers easy access to local produce, including vineyards and gourmet products, alongside adventure tourism experiences.

Situated on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua People, the site is rich in cultural significance. The proposal was informed by broad community consultations involving traditional owners, industry representatives, residents, and tourism associations, valuing a deeply a collaborative approach.

The design considers the natural topography of the landscape, avoiding development on the predominant ridge. The architectural vision emphasizes low-scale, prefabricated structures with low roof forms, subdued colours, and natural materials. Sustainability is a driving force, with renewable energy sources, water conservation, and eco-friendly technologies at the forefront. No existing trees will be removed, and riparian zones will be revegetated, along with selected screen planting to enhance the natural value of the location.
